Scholarships Available for Online Certification Course

Become certified for manufacturing positions during 10- week program.

Brevard County, FL (December 14, 2016)) – Today’s modern manufacturing requires training in technical skills. Through collaboration with community partners, the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast is able to offer full and partial scholarships to Brevard County residents for a 10-week online nationally recognized Certified Production Technician (CPT) program beginning January 30, 2017.

Earning the CPT credential is the first step for candidates interested in entering the field of manufacturing. During this 10-weeek program administered via Eastern Florida State College, students will learn the essentials of Safety, Quality Practices and Measurement, Manufacturing Processes and Production, and Maintenance Awareness.

The demand for qualified entry-level workers in manufacturing has never been higher in Brevard County. As new manufacturers enter our market and existing companies grow, employers are seeking talent with a demonstrated skill set to meet the needs of modern manufacturing. The Certified Production Technician credential develops these skills, proving to employers that the candidate is ready for the position.
