French Aerospace Supplier Selects Brevard County

Axyal brings technical plastics and composites solutions to the Space Coast

Brevard County, FLA (March 23, 2016) - The Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast (EDC) is pleased to announce that Axyal, a French company developing innovative solutions for technical plastics and composites, will open its first North American office in Brevard County, Florida.

Axyal, headquartered in Sauvagnon, France has established Axyal Space Coast to serve its U.S. customers. The company opened a sales office in Melbourne, Florida; with plans to expand into a full scale design and manufacturing facility serving a variety of sectors to include aerospace, medical, railway and automotive.

The EDC worked closely with company representatives to introduce them to the U.S. market, our local business community, and our existing aviation and aerospace industry leaders. “Brevard County offers a robust aerospace and aviation environment which played a major role in our decision to expand here. We are excited about the prospect of expanding our customer base in Brevard County and throughout the world,” stated Etienne Florin, General Manager of Axyal Space Coast.

The company leaders were considering other sites throughout the U.S. before ultimately choosing the Space Coast. “Axyal’s, choice to open its first North American operation in Brevard County reinforces the international attention our aviation industry has achieved, and continues to develop,” stated Lynda Weatherman, president & CEO of the EDC of Florida’s Space Coast. “Attracting companies like Axyal further develops a local supply chain for multiple industries.”

The EDC’s success in the expansion of the area’s aviation industry created the environment Axyal was seeking and positions it to serve as a supplier to companies such as Embraer S.A. and Vision Systems, both recruited by the EDC.
