 About The Program:The Certified Production Technician (CPT) credential is an industry-recognized certificate verifying students who master essential training in safety, quality practices and measurement, manufacturing processes and production, and maintenance awareness.

• The coursework is delivered online in the evening – the instructor is live so students may ask questions throughout the lecture.
• The program includes 3 "Intro to Manufacturing" sessions convened weekly via Virtual GoToMeeting starting August 31 (for candidates that are new to manufacturing).
• The CPT training curriculum is two evenings per week for 10 weeks via Eastern Florida State College's (EFSC) Online CANVAS system starting September 30. (6pm-10pm)
• Students will tour (inperson or via "virtual visit") up to four manufacturing facilities during the class.
• An interview skills workshop will be offered.
• A private job fair will be held at the end of class.
• A program mentor will work with the students throughout the program.
• This credential equates to 15 credit hours towards an Engineering Technology Associate’s Degree or Aerospace Technology Associate's Degree at Eastern Florida State College through a statewide articulation agreement.

  • August 27, 2020: The EDC’s scholarship review committee will review your application and you will be notified of the status of your scholarship.
  • August 31, 2020: Intro to Manufacturing session 1 via GoToMeeting.
  • September 9, 2020: Intro to Manufacturing session 2 via GoToMeeting.
  • September 14, 2020: Intro to Manufacturing session 3 via GoToMeeting.
  • September 23, 2020: CPT curriculum orientation with Eastern Florida State College training via GoToMeeting. (NOTE, applicable tuition and / or program fee before this orientation)
  • September 30, 2020: The 10 week CPT curriculum through EFSC begins convening on Monday and Wednesday evenings via online course instruction.
  • December 14, 2020: HR / Interview Skills workshop and exclusive CPT student manufacturing Career showcase*

Four exam dates and minimum two facility tour / virtual manfacturing visit dates will be provided following start of course. All dates subject to change.

The EDC’s CPT Tuition Assistance Program provides subsidized tuition to eligible candidates, reducing program tuition from $1,550 to $625. The cost of $625 includes costs of tuition, books, fees and supplies. This is made possible through funding by the Florida Department of Education. Program participants will be responsible for a $250 program fee. Scholarships to cover will be awarded based on funding availability and applicant qualification. Any fees not covered by the tuition assistance program and/or additional scholarships will be the responsibility of the student or sponsoring employer. Additional fees may include course exam retakes.

Program Fee - Employed in Manufacturing Scholarship: $250.00

Program Fee - Tuition Assistance Program: $250.00
